Seagate say there is no update available for your drive so I wouldnt risk trying any flashes. You are probably best to speak to them and see what you options are... maybe an RMA.

Re: Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 HD Owners - Must read!

When it comes to Seagate drives there are 2 types of "clicking":

1) Drive cycling/or sensing. Seagate drives are known to click a couple times during use, or when idle. This doesn't mean the drive is bad though, and unless the firmware states it fixes this issue then I wouldn't worry about it. It has to do with the way the sensors work or some such in the Seagate drive (can't remember the specifics at the moment).

2) Start up clicks, where you hear a hard click/thunk, sometimes followed by a slight spin up, then click/thunk sound at boot up, these are usually indicative of hard drive failure, or imminent failure. No firmware in the world is going to fix this. My suggestion is that if the drive does boot up, and you can get at the data on the drive, get as much of it off onto another drive as fast as you can, then send it in for repair, or just out right replace it.
