Hello I'm going to be upgrading my system very shortly to an ASUS X48 board along with DDR3 memory...was wondering which of these 2 memory modules is the best choice...or if you have another recommendation...Thanks

The question is how much you can buy them for. The G.Skill set is better, but not if it is much more expensive than Corsair's.

I have similar plans to what you have just stated and just recently purchased these from Newegg.

Well it isnt necessarily "Fans" of Gskill, more the fact that they have better specs than the Corsair set you are looking at

Also at DDR3 1066/1333 its not really worth it, since DDR2 can still easily beat it at half the price, but if your looking to take the plunge into DDR3 and can stand the performance loss and extra costs DDR3 incurs then by all means go for it... I would have suggested a DDR2 1066 5-5-5-15 kit, or 1200 5-5-5-15, or if you had cash something like DDR2 1000 4-4-4-12.

But enjoy your purchase if you apply to the above statement
