samsung makes damn good screens... specially hdtv lcds..
but every manufacturer has a poor screen, at least poorer.... only way to compete usually. Basically you'll want to do research on the monitors size you want, and then widdle it down by using as many reliable review sites as possible.

I can definitely say that samsung make fantastic quality monitors. I've currently got this one Samsung SM-226BW 22" Widescreen LCD Monitor - Glossy Black
I was tempted by cheaper brands but i nthe end you get what you pay for and won't be disappointed with a samsung |

19" monitors are quite small, personally, I'd never consider a monitor below 1680x1050 resolution anymore, when even they are relatively cheap.

I've heard that Samsung makes the screens for most high-end companies like LG and so on ... so I'm guessing Samsung
![]() I'll be shopping for a new screen myself soon. This LCD I have (signature) is great but not big enough. Either I buy a 2nd one (can't find the exact model anymore) or I get a big 24 or 27 inch |

I buy nothing but Samsung, they are the best. The 19" I run has been the best monitor I've ever owned.

even in the crt arena
![]() i still have my 19" 900IFT... best damn dot pitch, highest resolutions, and picture perfect color reproduction that you can basically get... the interesting fact of it all is that i paid 650+ for it back in 2001ish... and today it's still worth a nice mint... 2048x1536 @ 0.20 dot pitch, 68hz ain't all that bad for that age and spec of a monitor... 1600x1200 @ 83hz works well.....
