Uh Need help! Motherboard and ram.
Hey guys, I have some ram from my old computer, two 256 mb DDR2,333 ram.
So I have managed my money, and I was going to buy the Biostar Micro Nf61S Newegg.com - BIOSTAR NF61S Micro AM2 SE AM2 NVIDIA GeForce 6100 Micro ATX AMD Motherboard - AMD Motherboards and the AMD anthlon 64 Dual Core processor 2.1 Ghz. Newegg.com - AMD Athlon 64 X2 4000+ Brisbane 2.1GHz 2 x 512KB L2 Cache Socket AM2 65W Dual-Core Processor - CPUs / Processors So I just saw in the motherboard description that It supports DDR2 800 ram.. So what is that a difference?..I thought that all DDR2 ram was the same?..Does that mean that I cant use my DDR2, 333 ram? Or are the numbers just to describe something else?..and the ram is the same? I appreciate any help since I'm going to give my teacher the money tomarrow or the next day so he can buy it for me. _ EDIT, AHH guys i'm so confused!,,They said I was using DDR2 ram..But it says DDR, 333 not DDR2, 333..I cant think at all today o_0.. id get this memory...
Newegg.com - SUPER TALENT 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Desktop Memory and id probably get a slower X2 and OC it slightly to account for the loss...... anything less than 2Gb is just not worth it
