Good morning all :can anyone help me install a second sata hard drive on a win 64 system .real stupid about this so where to start .THANKS

I guess my first question is if you are starting out with a brand new hard drive right out of the box that hasn't been formatted yet.

Hi there and welcome to DriverHeaven!

First I moved your post to new thread since you could get help better. And I deleted the duplicate post you made.

It should be easy just mount the drive to the drive bay and plug the SATA cable to the motherboards SATA connector and connect it to the disc. And then connect the power cable to the hard drive. Do note that your computer must be turned off before doing this and it's recommended to unplug before installing the drive.


[EDIT] If you have already installed the drive open Computer Management console from the Administrative tools in Control Panel. And there open the disc management and initialize and then format the disc.
