I find these to be quite a deal for 1000MHz RAM:
Newegg.com - OCZ Platinum Edition 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1000 (PC2 8000) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Desktop Memory |

Thanks for the replies! That kit in Canada is $20.00 more than this kit Grace: NCIX.com - Buy G.SKILL F2-8000CL5D-4GBPQ PC2-8000 4GB 2X2GB DDR2-1000 CL5-5-5-15 240PIN Dual Channel Memory Kit - F2-8000CL5D-4GBPQ In Canada. think the OCZ is any better?

Probably are the same chips as you say, the extra $20.00 is probably due to the OCZ support.

IMO, the best way to find out which has the better support is to phone in to the company and see which picks up the phone fastest AND gives you the best knowledgable answers on your pre-sale question(s)

no advertising intended, just liked to share what i just found.
this DDR2 memory kit is overall very interesting, and without any reviews to know what i'm getting i would buy it anyway if its price is right. G.Skill F2-8800CL5Q-8GBPI 8GB (2GB x 4) Speed DDR2-1100 (PC2-8800) Test_Voltage 1.8 ~ 1.9 Volts Product Picture http://newgskill.web-bi.net/bbs/data...00_8GB_2_s.jpg Product Webpage DDR2 |

well, i don't kbow about the best for you, Mousey. it's just never occured to me that way anyway.
G.Skill is selling like 10 to 1 on their memory kits vs. other decent brand like Corsair as far as i know, and as far as i'm concerned, i like to buy the G.Skill 'cause it has the best replacement policy, even though i only had to do it once, but it was so easy and very fast to get a new replacment memory back to me. i also think G.Skill's price and quality is just right, and almost everyone i know uses (or starts buying) only G.Skill now. i guess, different place different policy different kind of distributors and retail stores... |
