I am thinking of buying a flash drive for Vista Readyboost. What size and features should I be looking for? I have never owned one of any kind so am totally lost here...
![]() I already have 4GB of RAM, 2 X 2GB PC2 8000 GSKILL, and am unsure if the USB flashdrive will even have a positive effect? Thanks for any suggestions! Maybe ChaosMinionX will feel sorry for me and give me his i-RAM.

For 4Gb+ RAM I don't think ReadyBoost will help much since a lot of the data is stored in the RAM already ....

It will give you a noticable boost with 4GB ram. Shucks I can see a difference and I have 8GB. Not as big a boost as when I was running 4GB, but a boost nonetheless.
I doubt that it will give you a better PCmark score but you will still see better performance in everyday use where it really counts. I'm using some El Cheapo 4GB one that Microcenter sells under their name. I guess the faster flash drive you have the better it will work, but pretty much any flash drive will help. I don't think that Vista will use more than 4GB in readyboost, so if you use anything bigger than 4GB it will be a waste.

OOPS on the System Specs! Will fix that right away thanks. Hmmm... not enough room for 7 drives there. I actually seem to change parts in it from day to day so it gets me confused.
