System Specs

The NeoPower 550 is very close to ATI mimimum spec requirement which states:
Quote:
ATI Radeon HD 4870 System Requirements
  • PCI Express® based PC is required with one X16 lane graphics slot available on the motherboard
  • 500 Watt or greater power supply with two 75W 6-pin PCI Express® power connectors recommended (600 Watt and four 6-pin connectors for ATI CrossFireX™ technology in dual mode)
  • Certified power supplies are recommended. Refer to Certified Power Supplies for a list of Certified products
  • Minimum 1GB of system memory
  • Installation software requires CD-ROM drive
  • DVD playback requires DVD drive
  • Blu-ray™ playback requires Blu-ray drive
  • For a complete ATI CrossFireX™ system, a second ATI Radeon™ HD 4870 graphics card, an ATI CrossFireX Ready motherboard and one ATI CrossFireX Bridge Interconnect cable per graphics card (included) are require
The NeoHE 550 is on the AMD/ATI list of Certified Single Powers Power Supply for the Radeon HD 4870. However, the NeoHE 550 is not certified for 4850 crossfire.

If you take into account the ageing process of the caps there is a chance that it may currently be below spec for 4870 single card solution.

If you are going the 4870 aingle card route, you should check your Antec voltage output and stability with multimeter. Do it once with your current setup for both idle & load on each individual voltage line and 12v rail. If it passes that ok then do the same check when it is installed in your new rig. If it fails either of those tests then you must replace it immediately.

If you are going 4850 crossfire route then you should upgrade your PSU prior to system build.
