AMD's Answer to Intel's Core i7

Anyone got more details, or sources on the answer to to "i7"

all I have heard so far is it's codenamed shanghai, has 6 MB of L3 cache.

I really wanna hear that that it's like Phenom 2, revenge of the transistor, but I know that's hoping.

i dont think AMD will have a REAL answer until mid 09 as they have got stuff to work out still..... and until they can beat an OCed Core 2, the market wont phase very quickly in their direction,

I assume you're referring to FUSION? I really hope they do, I'd love to see them take some of intel's Fans....

all that being said they still do provide a pretty good value, as you do not have to go with some of the more expensive intel boards/parts.

I'm rooting for AMD... go go little guy !
This is my 3rd AMD CPU in a row and I love it and all ... but cmon AMD you need to push it a bit cuz Intel's Quad is pretty sick

I used to buy nothing but AMD, but I just can't justify it anymore. I really hope they come back and pick it up again, a decade of loyal purchases says something...

I'm just hoping AMD can come up with an answer so we see a big collapse in CPU prices. If Intel finally get some competition they'll be forced to lower their prices in order to maintain their share of the market. Then everyone's happy
