If you can have EPP enabled in BIOS use it. It means that the ram will run on those timings specified on EPP. I don't have that support on my mobo and I need to input the best timings by hand in the BIOS

So what that means is that I should leave the memory configuration on Auto when I have EPP enabled?

Yeah if the mobo can read the data from the EPP chip then it would use the timings specified on the EPP.

IMO, the EPP function/feature is over rated and nothing but marketing.
with the EPP option enabled, it will set your memory timings and voltages for you automatically. there is no difference in performance if you have the EPP option disabled and all of those same settings entered your self manually. EPP is purely marketing BS. |

well, if need be. you can always contact the manufacturer of your MoBo, and ask them how to set your memory settings manually if you ever need help with those settings. they will ask you what are the settings of your memory (timings, clock mode, and voltages) and they will help you from there.
but hey, if EPP works for you, then cool. |
