TV/Monitor issues or not?
I bought an Xbox 360 elite (HDMI) and a TV. The TV has a couple of ways of changing source of signal (HDMI 1,2-component, TV, etc). The xbox is connected to HDMI 1. If I have the TV off or on any other source apart from HDMI 1, then the Xbox will turn on but it will sort of wait. No matter how long I wait for, as long as I switch the TV source to HDMI 1 then the xbox will "wake up" and continue normaly. Load the dashboard etc. If I switch back to another source the xbox is not affected.
I thought it was something to do with the xbox. Then 2 days ago I received my new PC. I connected it with an HDMI cable (with DVI-HDMI dongle to the graphics card) and basicaly the same thing happens with it too! How can the TV control the PC, I don't get it. I also use expert tool to set the fan speed at certain speed and all works fine, but if I switch to another source, tv or xbox, then the fan speed falls to the default of 27%. If I change the source back to the PC (HDMI 2) then nothiing changes with the fan speed unless I open expert tool. So, what is going on and how can I change it?

Re: TV/Monitor issues or not?
Yes, the TV can control devices connected to it via the HDMI cable to another device (such as a DVD player) as long as both use the HDMI connector - it's part of the specification for the interface. It's supposed to make using the devices easier - more unified.
I would venture to say the answer to your situation is buried somewhere in the owner's manual for the TV, or at least a hint at what might be happening. Unfortunately, I don't know exactly what functions are being enabled/controlled or how to change them - again, check your equipment documentation...
