Syncmaster 710n not working
So, this monitor is my sister's monitor and it's not working. it gives me a black screen with a constant message saying, "Not Optimum Mode." basically, it's out of sync.
I have taken this monitor to my other machine for further troubleshooting as a secondary display monitor in dual-view mode. I have already set it to the "optimum mode" of 1280x1024, 60Hz and it still gives me this message on my machine as it did in my sister's machine. I have loaded the driver for the monitor from Samsung's website, but I am unable to find a firmware update for it. If there is a firmware update, can anybody guide me in the right direction as I have not been able to find one for this monitor? TIA ![]() EDIT: what about the monitor's EDID? How do i check that to see what function of the monitor is working properly or not? Last edited by CDsDontBurn; Nov 2, 2008 at 09:43 PM. |

Re: Syncmaster 710n not working
I have done a few other things. since posting this.
I have changed VGA cables, used different DVI to VGA adapters, and nothing still. However, I have used the UV+ 16 and UV+12 and that seems to make it work intermittently. I have taken it to both of my jobs for additional testing, and that's where i got it to work with the UV+ devices. On any of my home computers, the above happens. But, from where I'm posting this now, this machine only has onboard video, so i can only use the UV+ device. From my other job, we have a machine with 2x 9800GTX+ cards in SLI as well as the UV+. i'm ready to throw this thing out, but it keeps showing me that it can work still, but it's being a stubborn little PITA! I have use for it still if i can get it to work. any ideas please? |
