Re: built this for my mom
p4 630? What's that?
It looks like a good entry system, but I never heard of the Seasonic brand and I wouldn't feel safe using an unknown brand for PSU, or a 300W for that.

Re: built this for my mom
Yeah they are... An d they makes fine PSU's. The last PSU that I had before the current was Seasonic had it performed well. Anyway nice home/office system for your mom. It don't need to have quad core CPU to do basic internet browsing and other stuff what your mom would do with that.

Re: built this for my mom
i have no idea what brand mine PSU is... i think it's General Power... it came with the case... but it seems to do the job so far, the temps of the components inside the PSU vary from 40 to about 55, 57 degrees, depending on the season... the only problem is that all the capacitors have lower working voltages assigned that the voltage that they are stabilizing... but i guess that is what i get for buying the cheapest case on the market with the PSU attached to the case...
![]() back on topic, it seems to be a a nice rig, i know a couple of friends of mine who haven't updated their rigs (or gotten new ones) for about 3 or 4 years, so i guess they would be pritty jelous at your rig... .

Re: built this for my mom
wow, your mom's rig has a better GFX card then mine, hahahhahahaha
, just check my specs, although it's same series, it still is better, not to mention that it's a GT, not a GS like mine...

Re: built this for my mom
i've recently had a number of those specific cpu heatsinks in (there general design) where they have a habit of catching the most dust and dirt of them all, and they really plug up bad i find, not sure exactly why it is. Would be worthwhile checking every few months specially with a cat there lol

Re: built this for my mom
if i have any left over cash, i'll be buying my mom a new 19in. LCD monitor as well in the near future. something in the $150 range before tax and shipping. preferably something that has a DVI input. but, i know i can't have everything so here are some of the monitors i've been thinking about in that price range.
Newegg.com - Acer V193W b Black 19" 5ms Widescreen LCD Monitor 300 cd/m2 2000:1 - LCD Monitors Newegg.com - ASUS VW193D Black-Silver 19" 5ms Widescreen LCD Monitor 300 cd/m2 850:1 - LCD Monitors Newegg.com - Acer V193Wbm Black 19" 5ms Widescreen LCD Monitor 300 cd/m2 2000:1 Built in Speakers - LCD Monitors Newegg.com - ASUS VW193T Black 19" 5ms Widescreen LCD Monitor 300 cd/m2 800:1 (ASCR 1600:1) Built in Speakers - LCD Monitors i'm really interested in that last asus monitor only because it has the DVI port built into the monitor, but what do you guys think about some of these monitors? |
