Being a SHAMELESS FANBOI when it comes to Corsair PSUs I'll point out that the Corsair PSUs have the 6+2 connections
hahaha. yea i noticed that.
and that is also the first card i think im going to buy.

so the 6+2 connector means it will fit on either/or?

Yes, the +2 means that the extra 2 hangs on the side like an appendix if you don't need it.

Once you build, you never go back... You already start planning your next one. It's like a disease

Yep. I built a few systems back in the day...like 10 years ago back in the day..didnt have to do much research to figure out how back then. It was easy which made it a lot of fun, and very addictive. And yes, lack of funds is exactly what stopped me. The only way i was able to build the 5 that i did, was by selling each rig and starting a new one

As i ponder and contemplate, i realize more and more that if i want to maximize cost : performance then I have no choice but to OC..
people have already provided a few suggestions as far as CPUs, but if im going to get in this whole situation, i may as well go ahead and OC everything.

My question is this: If i decide to go this rout, should i worry about OCing everything, or can i just do the GPU and CPU and get what i want?

Keeping in mind that im wanting to be able to spend less and get higer priced performance in the end....the goal is not to start competing with ppl on benchmarking sites....yet

the thing about OCiing the CPU and GPU, you tend to OC everything else along with it....

you have to mess with RAM speeds to get to the FSB levels on say, a Q6600

Re: wanna build, but kind of lost...

looks like i picked a good time to start planning a new system. dont know exactly what happened, but something on my mobo took a dive on me... so here i sit at the library telling you guys about it because i have nothing else better to be doing, and i miss picking your brains for all the little bits and pieces of knowledge that i dont have the ambition to go find articles about. i dont have any questions at the moment, just didnt want anyone to think WoW got another one.
