Samsung Blackjack II (SGH-I617) Need keyboard help, tips, tricks, opinions, and more

Well my other fone was lost, it was just an old basic fone for voice and crappy texting. I was up for upgrade so i wasnt worried about the fone but sux i lost my contacts.

so i thought wat the hey ill check out this blackjack 2. got it for 80 bucks and didnt have to contract for any data plan, just kept my basic voice plan under a new 2 year. i opted to add unlimited data and 200 msgs a month for 35 bucks (able to shutoff at my discretion). Sa far (about 2 days) i'm not to impressed with the "new" AT&T network. the 3g is very spotty in my local and mostly the fone is connected to EDGE. will most likely just keep a msg plan.

i did upgrade to WinMob 6.1 first thing with links provided from samsung. all went flawless and is up and running.

The GPS is working nicely, using google maps provided a very usable travel solution, which of course uses data. This is fine for now but i am very interested in a mapping solution that doesnt require an online data connection, something installed to the fone (microSD).

trouble im having with keyboard involves logging into DH via opera mini (is opera mini best choice for mobile browsing?), and my username. i cant find a way to type in the square brackets surrounding the [hobo] in my username. prolly something im overlooking being new to smartphone\PDA's.

anyone have any suggestions about this? or any other opinions or suggestions of fun and interesting sites, forums or apps for windows mobile 6.1??

here's 2 sites i've been poking around on
