avi audio file but wanting to capture audio...

I've got Staind from MTV's unplugged on a 700 mb avi file. I'm wanting to rip or grab just the audio and burn it so I can have a take along album. I've looked into a few audio grabbers and streaming audio rippers but no good! the streaming needs an http addy to pull from and the audio grabber wanted a CD. Suppose I can try loading the avi onto daemon and trying that route... really just want to capture the live audio feed and then be able to break it up into tracks.... am I asking too much?

OK maybe I took the long way around but wanted to post up here in case anyone else runs into this later....

1. used virtual dub to rip audio to .wav file
2. used this program to convert wav to mp3
3. used Cool MP3 splitter to split the mp3 file
4. burned to CD

now have me a Staind mtv unplugged album
