Logitech and Ventrilo War- Logitech wins.

I play FFXI online. I have for about 5 years. In my linkshell we use Ventrilo for many things. However lately my headset hasn't been functioning the way I have expected it too. So, simply, I replaced it.

I purchased the Logitech clear chat wireless one because I am frankly quite tired of the wire getting in my way. Now before any assume the issue is with the wireless connectivity, it isn't. There is no lag, nor do I have an issue with sound quality.

The issue is though, that my Mic doesn't seem to want to work. At all. I can hear quite well, and all of that but there is no sound from me that can be registered.

Yes, I have turned up my settings.
No, the mute button is not on.
Yes, I have readjusted everything twice to make sure I didn't miss it.

Now when I log onto Vent, I get this wonderful little status message.

DirectSoundCaptureCreate failed. HR=DSERR_NODRIVER. No sound Driver is available for Use.
</snip>

I've been doing some searching on the net thus far and not found one that seems to work. Anyone have any ideas?

didn't look at the date, how do I delete this?
