My new 9800GTX+ - Thanks to DH and Zotac (56k warning)

I was lucky enough to win the DH Zotac competition for a Nitro USB oveclock controller and watercooled Zotac 9800GTX+ Zone Edition.

It's arrived today:

One small problem (pun not intended):

As you can see the card is much too big for my little old matx case. I'll be getting a new coolermaster case and PSU later this week - there's a £52 bundle on Ebuyer. More news then!

Congratulations.
You know, you can just use a full bay to 3.5" adaptor for the hard drive and remove the whole HDD enclosure that is there and blocking the graphics card. That way you won't have to buy a new case, but I guess the PSU is a different matter although I believe the current one should be enough.

I did think about this, but the case would still be very tight and I've been meaning to replace it for sometime.

As for the PSU, I'v heard to many horror stories about sub £20 power supplies when pushed even vaguely close to their limits.

Yeah I've been thinking about that. Does anyone happen to know if it overclock permanentley (like a bios flash) or if it's just a rivatuner style application? I've always overclocked my video cards but I'm not a big fan of software overclocking.

Here's the results.

I'm not too big on presentation, so you'll have to forgive me there.

Pros and Cons so far:

Pros:
-Damn fast (though not fully tested)
-Quiter than 9600
-Cool for 9800gtx+

Cons:
-Inconvenient shape of radiator.
-Not as quiet as you might expect.

I'm loooking into mounting the radiator outside the case.

Looking fine, i got my system installed also (pics here) and yeah I have to agree, it's not THAT silent. I can clearly hear the pump, which annoys me a bit, but I can properly get used to it.

I've now moved that radiator into the 5.25" bays.

It's horizontally mounted, and much, much cooler.

Plus, my old 92mm Antec fan is now acting as intake.

my gaud it almost looks worse then the initiall presentation of the Voodoo 5 6000... it's utterly huge....

Yet another new rad position!

I'm keen to experiment, so I've now mounted it on the side panel. This makes it a bit of a pain to get in and out of the case, but generally I shouldn't have to do that too often.

Gfx temperatures are way down, though the CPU cooler is suffering by about 5 degrees. It's a worthwhile trade though.
