My new Zotac 9800 GTX+ from DH - IT'S A BEAST!!

I was one of the lucky winners in the Zotac 9800GTX+ contest together with blibbax (see his pics) and got this bad boy installed today.

And oh my god, what a freaking beast, it's huuuuuuge.

This is my system before the install, it's a C2D system in a Antec P182-SE case.

I chose to install the radiator where one of the Antec fans are located, as it would fit perfectly there.

It was a tight fight at the RAM slots, had to install the ram first (had 4GB pc2 8500 reaper lying around) or else I couldn't lock down the clip.

All installed

Pleeeeeenty of room :> Original Zotac cooler in the background.

My old card, a Geforce 8800GT with an AC Accelero S1 and a 120mm cooler.

Zotac Nitro USB device

I haven't done a lot of tests, but looks really good so far. Though I was a bit surprised, that you clearly can hear the pump, which I have to get used to.

That's a nice setup you've got there.

Any solution to the noise yet? I'm thinking it can't be supposed to be this loud, given it's being advertised as silent. It's no louder than my old air cooled 9600GT, but the noise would bug me if I was using the PC as a media centre like they suggested.

Having said that, enjoy your card, I certainly am!

Not really. I'm thinking about finding a solution where the pumps get 5V instead of 12V and see if that's good enough for it.

Keep us updated. I'm looking into a few noise reduction solutions (mats / blocks) but the cost really outweighs any benefit I can see.
