what case should i go for

i am torn between two cases the X Clio A380/A+ Twin Turbo 2 x 25cm fans ultra quiet

I think the Xclio is the ugliest combination of metal/plastic I have ever seen.

I know beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but for me, that Xclio is hidious. Plus, internally it's nothing to write home about either. Not tooless, almost no provisions for cable management. About the only thing it has going is the styling. Yeah, it has the big ass fan in the front, but when you look at what's behind it, I'd bet a 120mm fan would cool just as well.

Of the two you listed, I'd definately go for the Cooler Master.

Now, if you LIKE the more aggressive styling, have you looked at the Cooler Master HAF932? It has the big fans, a bit more 'bling', and is probably a better cooling case than even the Cosmos.

mate the haf is ugliest case on the planet .. the reason i mentioned the Xclio is because it recieves good right ups in reviews

I'm not all that fond of the styling of the HAF932 myself. I will say that I've taken a look at one in the store, and they do seem to look a bit better than they do in photographs. After seeing it 'in the flesh' so to speak, I could 'live' with one, if I could disable the danged LEDs on the fans.

I have, and really like the styling of the Cooler Master 690, so you can see that I like the more traditional and understated look.

I REALLY, REALLY like the ATCS 840 Classic in black, but it's just out of my price range.

while i don't think cosmetic appearance should ever come into the equation for most things, it's all about proper application and how good it doesthe job, there is a line where something so horrible shouldn't be used

i'd go with the black, it looks a bit more like a fighter jet engine still attached to a broken wing vs the broken 747

yea... id just get the HAF 932 but you dont like that thing all that much....

id get the ATCS 840 because thats the enthusiast version of the HAF 932 with all the goodies.... looks better too....

I don't see anything I find technically appealing on the XCLIO A380. Estethically maybe if one spray painted the inside of the black case black and disconnected the fan LEDs. I don't know how much less the A380s go for but with the Cosmos 1000 there's nothing that needs to be done to improve its sleek look and it's better built too.

Antec 1200 is also a nice case. Big tower, a lot of steel involved and it has great cooling capabilities...

That's one ugly case! Plus the amount of dust and bugs that will go through it... the HAF is the sleeping beauty compared to it and I don't even like the HAF. The X Clio A380 screams "look at me! I have a small cpu!", or something.
I admit, if it was in rusty orange colour, I would be tempted. It would give this Beneath a steel sky look.

that's one huge fan. Anyway, I think the black A380 looks better than the silver/white one; that's if u insist on buying that. It's upto u at the end, pick the one you like most. Having a little jet engine on the front sure does look unique and eye catching though !

i am going to be buying the Coolermaster Cosmos RC1000 .... but i am also going to replace the side panel with a Windowed Side Panel from here

Out of those two I'd go for the Coolermaster, just for the looks. That X Clio is just plain ugly.

The p180 is also in that price range I believe. I can certainly recommend it. It's very quiet and has good air circulation and enough working space, the build quality is also absolutely phenomenal. Oh, and did I mention it was quiet?

That ATCS 840 is a nice case.

not too fond of either of these, but if you must need our help in deciding which of these two, i'd say go for the black one. and IMO, it looks like a disfigured ThermalTake Armor case.

personally though, i'd say get an anteck p180 or an antec 1200. or, get the real ThermalTake Armor case. i used to sell them, and they are very excellent cases as well!

IMO Cosmos 1000 (I have one and I love it)

just watch your HD temps.....apparantely I'm the only one in the world that has one where this is a problem but hey whatever.

i have a armour case ... it is well past its best ie all the drive bay covers are missing etc ... it looks a mess

i've the 1000 cosmos...... and had all the hd drive bays filled with seagate 7200.11's in raid 0 (therefore making all the drives run at thier peak all the time)

the highest temp i recorded was 48*C if i recall right... and that was because it was near an electric heater in my house

see i'm jealous....I finally got the three in my rig to sit right around 45C with a fan installed at the top of the rack

I'm at a loss still as to why heat builds up right there in my case

eh.....I'll soon be rearranging everything again in my case so maybe I will beable to figure it out

could be the nature of the drives themselves.. i've seen some drives with faulty sensors..

are you looking at the tempts while in windows?

cause i only use the manufacturers diagnostic tools as all the windows based tools have always given me screwed up or unreliable information

254*C for example.... if that were the case, my machine would be on fire....
