a good choice for IDE to SATA adapter?

Am hopeing to get some feedback on who makes a really good IDE to SATA adapter. Am building a new computer and one of my DVD burner drives is old style IDE connector. I want to use an adapter so that I can use the much slimmer SATA cables as even using a rounded IDE cable is still bulky and blocks airflow. I know not all adapters are nessisarily the same qulity wise so would appreciate some input on the matter as to which ones ppl have found to be most reliable.

Unless you really like that particular DVD recorder it would cost about the same to buy a new one made for SATA. On the other hand one can often fold and tie or tape a single flat cable to the side of a case to get it out of the way. Here follows an article.

Actually its a brand new drive I had sitting here. I hadn't realized drives had dropped to such low prices. I noticw at newegg they have one thats made by samsung that has lightscribe for a whopping 29 dollars.

Newegg.com - SAMSUNG Black 22X DVD+R 8X DVD+RW 16X DVD+R DL 22X DVD-R 6X DVD-RW 12X DVD-RAM 16X DVD-ROM 48X CD-R 32X CD-RW 48X CD-ROM 2MB Cache SATA 22X DVD±R DVD Burner with LightScribe - CD / DVD Burners

Does samsung make good burners? Seems this one get more pro vs con results in user opinions

i built a system with that burner....

its excellent, dead silent in nearly all forms of use, some case fans are louder than it in normal operation. did i mention that it burns if a few minutes?

Think thats what I'll do then most adapters I looked at were running $15 to $20 and there is always cance the adapter might be a dud. I have on I hooked an old ide hd to but this way I won't have tomuck aboutwitha adapter that might wiggle loose or stuff.

I would agree with this, I've seen the samsung dvd drives for $22 while the converters are $35-$45.

generally... i don't recommend using sata to IDE adapters... they can cause some pretty hefty havoc...... it's just not worth while.
