Help! My Psu Keeps Shutting Down Randomly

Hi
Last Year Around December I Had Some Issues With My Enermax 535W Shutting Down Unexpectedly When On Normal Usage And Im Unable To On My Computer Again But After A Few Hours Im Finally Able To Boot This Does Not
Always Happen Usually 2 Times 1 Week But Then The Problem Went Away
So Now I Think The Problem Is Back My Computer Just Off Suddenly And I Could Not Reboot For A Few Minutes. So I Was Wondering Is My Psu Faulty?
I Only Got It Less Than A Year

Edit : I Pop In Another Psu And It Seems To Work But Then I Pop Back The Enermax It Does Not Respond At All Untill Awhile Later

Thanks

Re: Help! My Psu Keeps Shutting Down Randomly

sounds like a faulty PSU. Considering it didn't happen while you had another PSU in there, and the problem came back after you put the old one in there again.

Btw, typing every word with a capital letter is pretty annoying to read.

Try contacting the reseller for warranty service (as you bought it from less than year) may be you will get a replace or at least get the psu repaired.

what they said, your system specs are inline with the PSU's capabilities so it should handle still. if the reseller wont help you, contact enermax they should help

That is something that he should not do!

You are telling him to void his warrantry. IF there are bad components inside the PSU it's replaceable under warranty, but ONLY if he hasn't opened it up.

LILRazor:

Sounds like you just happened to get a bad one that died early. Especially if it's this one:
http://www.hardwareheaven.com/reviews/enermax535/

It sounds like you need to contact the re-seller, or Enermax, and start the RMA process.

Exactly. That PSU "should" have a 3 year warranty on it from Enermax. Open it up, and your screwed. You might be able to get away with it, but most times there is a "warranty void if opened" seal on them. Break that, and it's a dead giveaway that you opened it.

i cannot stress this enough, DO NOT open your PSU, just call enermax or email them and tell them about your issue, they should help.

Re: Help! My Psu Keeps Shutting Down Randomly

to me it sounds like your PSU is shorting with the case, i would check that non of the cables from the PSU are touching the case in any way, had something similar hapen to me on my old PC and found out that it was because one of the wires was bare and touching the case, just check that out as a possibility. good luck but as everyone above has said its best to just take it back.
