Asus Customer Support IS Truly Horrible.
I have my 8800Ultra RMA'd to Taiwan for repair or replacement, after one and a half months, still no joy.
Bloody horrible. Its a pity cos their products are very good. |

i waited 5 months for my Seagate 7200.10 to complete it's RMA trip...

All Sapphire RMA's have to go to Hong Kong. That is another company I won't buy from again.

Well I finally got my Ultra back (actually a brand spanking new replacemnt). God I didn't realize how big this was. everytime I hold it, it just awes me.
well it seems to be running cooler than the original, which is always a plus

Really? Is that because you're in Canada? Because I know that Sapphire has a U.S. Operations base about 20min. from where I live.

Same for the USA AFAIK. Sapphire doesn't do their own RMA's in North America you have to go through a company called Athlon Micro, and they told me that they have to send the card back to Kong Hong, and then they charge me for the services. Which according to them would cost me $25USD to $45USD and take 4-8 weeks. All this for because of the POS fan they include on their cards.

ouch, that really sucks man. yea, i wouldn't buy from a company that has a slow turn around time like that for RMAs. it needs to stay within the same continent, even if it's in a different country of the same continent for faster turn around.
and what about the RMA process itself once Sapphire got the card in their facility? did it take 2 weeks or more of processing time? Or was it rather quick? |
