Re: RAM Command Rate. 1T or 2T???

try and find out. worst that can happen is your pc won't start and you need to set it back.

what I understand, it doesn't really mean much difference nowadays and it makes things more unstable then it does good.

According to Dr. Wong the CR should be 1T. There is also a note about changing the voltage to use tighter timings. Is this your RAM?

Re: RAM Command Rate. 1T or 2T???

general concensus on that 1t vs 2t is that 1t does show noticeably faster responce times and overall performance.

However it's also suggest that you don't bother trying 1t if your running more then 2 sticks (aka... a single set of dual channel).... If your running more then 2 sticks, stability basically goes out the window for most cases.

I mean try it... if it don't work you just set it back just like what was said earlier...

yea that's what I meant.. I was talking from my own perspective (of course) and stability goes down when I try 1T with 4x2gb

Re: RAM Command Rate. 1T or 2T???

I always try 1T first, and if it isn't stable I will try tweak other settings so I can use 1T; otherwise at a last resort I'll go 2T.

Re: RAM Command Rate. 1T or 2T???

2T is recommended for maximum stability.

However, what I would do to run my memory at a 1T command rate, would be to run the CPU's FSB at a 1:1 ratio with the memory speed. This would effectively run the memory between 667Mhz to 800Mhz or more depending on if you have your system OCed or not. Once running the memory at the lower frequency, I would then set the command rate to be 1T instead of 2T.

also, i do remember reading from somewhere that it's typically not recommended to run your memory above 800Mhz with a 1T command rate because about 95% of the time, your system will simply not boot.
