iRiver SlimX iMP-350 CD/MP3 Player
I was thinking about picking up this MP3/CD Player for myself as I would like to be able to just put my cd's up as backups just in case.
It is simple yet decent looking, has support for MP3, WMA, as well as having FM Radio, decent playback time, bass boost system and all the trimmings. Here is a link iRiver SlimX iMP-350 CD/MP3 Player Here is what I really need to know. Has anyone ever used anything by iRiver? Do they have decent sound at all? Im fairly picky and no one nearby carries anything made by them so I cannot test them out in person. for anyone wondering here is a list of features that I want in case the iRiver isnt a good choice. (Ones with * are musts) WMA Support MP3 Support* FM Tuner* Bass Boost or even a Programmable EQ* Upgradability though firmware* (which means future support for other codecs like ogg vorbis, mp3pro, etc...) Clear Sound with good bass but not bottom heavy....i hate mid-high distortion* Must be silver or have alot of silver on it somewhere (this is semi-optional but i really like silver) Would prefer it to have a decent looking remote of some kind. Would prefer it to be somewhat of a thin player. (I carry around enough wait everyday as is for work and such) Must have decent battery life* Must not cost over $150* Ive done some searching so far and just cant find all of that in one package other than the iRiver but reading the reviews most of them are positive but a couple things do bother me Some were saying up to 30 seconds of load time since it buffers it all at once unlike a normal cd player that just spins faster for a while and starts playing immediately but other than that i really like it and since its firmware upgradable they could perhaps fix the load time issue |

It's a great player indeed, I picked one up at Best Buy the first of this month. I use it at work with some Sennheiser's (silver as well) not only is it a great player but looks great. I also like the three different power sources too. However, I do think they could of done a better job on the external AA holder. One neat feature it has that I yet to see on any other CD player is resume. Yes, other CD players have this but say you listen to a CD until track five. You then pop in another CD and listen to it completely, when you put the CD you was listening to before back in. Guess where it starts from? Yup, right where you left off before you played the second CD!!

Well I have this one http://www.tdk-mojo.com/ and it works great for me. It also has the resume Necrosis is talking about. It's upgradable (firmware) and has really good battery life. It's a very nice CD/MP3 Player.
EDIT: Here's another link http://www.tdk.com/cdmp3/mojo620.html
