ASUS PC Probe reading backward?
So here's the question. I have an ASUS board (as seen in the main rig specs in my profile) and its nb is currently passively cooled with the sink that came with the board and the addition of AS5 of course. The Phenom isn't OC'd yet until i figure out this problem that I am currently experiencing. My CPU is fully watercooled. when I am running this computer (folding @home gaming etc) My "CPU" temp climbs into the mid-50'sC and the "nb/motherboard" temp almost always stays in the mid-high 30sC or low 40sC. These have to be backward right!?!? I mean ive checked the temps of my system and they always seem to hint toward the other direction. Just touching the nd heatsink at full load feels like it is scorchingly high and the water temp in the loop hardly varies from about 35 to 38C

Re: ASUS PC Probe reading backward?
ASUS probe is rubbish. Use the latest CoreTemp for your CPU temps to get an accurate reading.
best off with even minimal airlfow accross your northbridge though. The AMD chipset does not use a lot of power at all though and won't be massively hot, it's a bit confusing as the heatsink is so small it obviously heats up rather quick due to the small surface area. Mike |
