Thermaltake Element S vs Coolermaster HAF932
I upgraded my computer around mid last year, and in order to cut back on cost as much as I could, I chose a mediocre case (coolermaster 5)
since then, i have overclocked my 9450 to 3.2ghz on air, and although the temperatures arent bad (48 degrees C), I'm really not happy with the look//makes me worry about my parts and overheating A local computer store (PC Superstore, Australian Computer Store With an Incredible Range of Computer Hardware, Software, Networking, Monitors and Accessories) has both the Element S and HAF932 for $299 which is the max i will pay. Any suggestions or owners of the cases with some feedback? Are there any other cases which provide above average airflow at around or less of the price? thanks. |

If u go for cases of lesser price, then you'll most likely encounter some cost cutting here and there. I've seen the HAF32 in action a while ago, it's a very good case. If you're willing to spend for it I'd recommend that out of the two.
alot of the cases on the website you provided are very good (around the $300 mark), jus don't get the antec skeleton :P

Re: Thermaltake Element S vs Coolermaster HAF932
I am not familiar with the Thermaltake case there are a few members on here running the HAF932 with excellent results.
In that price range there is also the NZXT Khaos which I haven't look at personally but Bill Owen has ... it's in the 400 dollar area though. http://www.nzxt.com/products/khaos/

I have the ElementS coming within the next few days. I'll see if I can put up some pictures. Here is a good review on it by Hardware Canucks:

Re: Thermaltake Element S vs Coolermaster HAF932
khaos sure looks nice.
regarding the skeleton, it doesn't perform well. One of my friends had it for a while and jus sold it. I think it'll be ok if you run water cooling.

Re: Thermaltake Element S vs Coolermaster HAF932
Man, my old web host wouldn't take the images. Image Shack seems to though. These are just of the case. I have the PSU installed, but won't get the RAM for my new system until next week. So, i'm reading the instructions and basically having a good old time admiring my new toys.
Thermaltake ElementS That contains three of the best pictures I took. When that cat wasn't trying to "help" anyway. Its a beautiful case, and the black finish makes it look very professional. Turning my old system in a Cooler Master Stacker 832 into a media/storage server with Windows Home Server and putting it into my closet. Last edited by vicsrealms; Apr 18, 2009 at 07:45 PM. Re: Thermaltake Element S vs Coolermaster HAF932
Looking nice man. Are the door hinges good quality? I have an older case which has quite an annoying door...But this one is magnetised right?
thanks for the feedback guys. I think it might be HAF932 vs HAF922 vs Element S now - this is harder than i thought

Re: Thermaltake Element S vs Coolermaster HAF932
The door hinges seem to be very good quality on the ElementS, and the door gets a nice good grip on the case. So much so, that they should have put a handle on the front. Its kind of hard for my fingers to get a grip. Of course, I haven't had a lot of time with it. RAM should be in soon....hopefully. Then, I can my PC up this weekend.

Re: Thermaltake Element S vs Coolermaster HAF932
Well thats a welcome sign..
![]() Its also cheaper at the store. As far as i know the cooling performance is roughly the same as the HAF932 (right...?) so i guess it just comes down to looks now ![]() Looking forward to those pics...it could be the decider |

Re: Thermaltake Element S vs Coolermaster HAF932
Some pictures of an install I did on the HAF932 just over a week ago http://www.hardwareheaven.com/hardware...ml#post1248380
Best decision I've ever made, the differences in quality between the Coolermaster and the Thermaltake are night and day. The construction and performance of the HAF932 are absolutely solid. |

Re: Thermaltake Element S vs Coolermaster HAF932
Looks like they have very much the same cooling performance. Except the HAF932 has that fan on the side blowing in air. I have heard the Thermaltake has another version of the ElementS coming out with a huge fan on the side panel. The Thermaltake ElementS has 2xfront 120mm fans instead of the HAF932's huge 230mm front. Can those huge fans even be replaced? New egg only has 220mm and 250mm, and FrozenCPU also only has 200mm and 250mm fans. May have to contact CM or Thermaltake for replacements.

Re: Thermaltake Element S vs Coolermaster HAF932
@Lelisevis
Thanks for posting those...Do all the fans come included and whats the noise like? Because as vicsrealms said I would be hard pressed finding replacement 230mm fans. Right now im tipping to the HAF932 unless vicsrealms has something to convince me towards the Element S... |

Quote:
1x230mm front 1x230mm top 1x230mm side 1x240mm exhaust All the fans can be swapped out for 120mm's if needed without any modding, thats a potential 10x120mm fans or mix and match if you want, it has tons of room for radiators and watercooling. Stock fans are whisper quiet, the only sound you'll hear is the air moving. |
