Samsung CLX-3175 how to scan multiplate pages into one document

Hi!

I've been reading the manual, searching multiple forums but cannot find a way to scan multiple pages into one PDF on my Samsung SCX-3175FN (SCX-3170 series). And i'm really bummed about it.

Anyone with a slightest idea how to achieve this, it would be greatly appreciated!

well, because it has a document feeder,... and also install a cute writter

1)go to my computer
2)right click on the scanner and select "get picture using scanner wizard"

there should be an option for source, say document feeder.... then save the scans as pictures...... so now you have them all in the same folder..

right click on the first pic, then say print..... select all... change the printer to the PDF writer.. then print......

PS: sorry if its written slightly messy

Well....if you are wanting a multi-page PDF file on your computer rather than in print this could be a bit of a trip. I've had problems with this at work a lot and only recently when the cheap people that run this place finally bought new scanners did it come with a program that will accomplish this. Here at work we use a program called Paper Port which came with our Xerox highspeed scanners. I think if you use something like that or adobe professional you can accomplish this easily. However, using something like the standard windows scanner software is a bit of a problem because I have NEVER gottent the scanner/camera wiazrd or anything of that nature to create anything more complex than single page PDF documents.

Re: Samsung CLX-3175 how to scan multiplate pages into one document

Well actually I didn't define the problem very well. Actually I want to scan them directly on the machine with the control panel.

Samsungs software SmartThru4 can achieve this, but I have to go to my PC, start the application and set my desired settings. Which is crap, as my PC and the MFC are 3 meters apart and I want to open the lid, put first page in, press the button, put the second page, press the button and voila, done.

I can't believe that such a machine can't accomplish that, as opposed to a crappy old canon scanner I had which could do that easily.

[EDIT]

Well, this is a possibility, but a lot of documents are stapled together or have paper clips in them.
But if I think again, it's the perfect solution and I should be smacked around because I havent' thought of that

Re: Samsung CLX-3175 how to scan multiplate pages into one document

I have a CLX-3175 myself - the plain one, without networking or feeder functionalities. It seems that the only option for scanning multiple pages is to scan to USB instead of directly to the PC. As soon as you select the USB option, the device asks the question 'another page?' after each scanned page.
