Panasonic Viera NeoPDP 600hz TV

I would consider buying one if it also recorded TV and let you copy/move the files (drm free of course) to a PC. So, no, not interested in any of them. I wouldn't get a media PC, just one more thing to break down (how I see it). I wouldn't say no to one, but buying one? Nah.

picked one up a few days ago, extremely impressive. the 1080p24 support is stunning as well (which the Ps3 also supports on the latest firmwares). Colours are breathtakingly rich and the definition with high quality 1080p material (such as Red Cliff and HD nature content is amazing).

Worth every penny for anyone contemplating a purchase. The advanced internal processor creates 600 sub-fields from the initial signal input, then reproduces 12 sub-fields to display a single frame --- technical jargon aside the picture is probably the best I have seen.

would a plasma make a good computer monitor or would an LCD be better suited for that task?

LCD, something like the samsung series 6 or 7 (if it has to be a tv).
