Raid 0 Issue
Hey, I just did a fresh install of windows 7 and ran the speed test and got a 5.9 on my hard drives once I had all the updates installed. I changed my mind shortly after and went with raid 0 between the 2 drives i had installed. Everything looks right in the bios and it says my raid 0 is working and has the correct size for the commbined disks, but when i run the speed test i'm still getting a 5.9. Does this mean my raid isn't working or that it's not giving me any speed boost? Or does the windows 7 speed test not mesure that?

Re: Raid 0 Issue
no quite often the windows test doesn't show any improvement..
run HDTach or something and you should see a significant improvement

Re: Raid 0 Issue
I read something about drive scores of 6.0 and higher being reserved for drives with better seek performance. You can run HD Tach in compatibility mode, but just copying some large files will show the improved sequential performance and all is likely just fine.

Re: Raid 0 Issue
other then the RAID drivers..... which isn't 100% necessary however should improve performance (though with windows 7..... it already has the best driver available for most of everything).
if you setup raid via bios configuration.... and loaded win7.. your good to go
