Zalman Trimon (stereo 3D) and Radeon
I'm trying to get a Zalman stereo 3D monitor working with a Radeon 4870. I've installed latest driver from ATI/AMD. The Zalman displays normal ASCII text info about drive checking during boot up but then goes into "Off Mode" when desktop should appear. If i then how swap in a DVI cable from any other monitor, normal Vista (32 bit) desktop appears. That tells me the issue is Zalman specific.
If i reboot with an NVIDIA Quadro 3700 board installed, the Zalman behaves normally. Tells me the issue is Radeon / Zalman specific. Has anyone encountered this and figured it out? Thanks for any ideas...

Could be a driver thing, if you aren't already using the latest version then try it. If you are then you can either try an older version or wait for the next driver that should appear this week.
Graphics Drivers & Software And welcome.

Re: Zalman Trimon (stereo 3D) and Radeon
I'd say Windows might be booting in a resolution and refresh rate not supported by the monitor. This should not be happening because normally, the monitor transmits its supported resolutions to the PC at boot-up and Windows selects a working resolution.
When you plug in a working monitor, what is the resolution and refresh rate in Windows at that time? |
