Re: Post your first computer specs
Actually the 5.25 came in both 360K and 720K.
The 3.5 was 1.4M. There was also a 2.8M 3.5, but they never really caught on as the CD's were becoming available at that time.

386SX 33MHz, 2MB RAM. I threw it in a junk today - it was just taking space in my room.

Re: Post your first computer specs
First one I had was (i can't even remember the exact name) Machintosh. Got it when I was in 4th grade when I was doing Science Fair competitions. I remember later getting one of the first programs to use a really slow (really crappy) version of what is similar to Word Art for Word. I later did also have a color printer on it before I tossed it. It took almost an hour to print out anything "fancy" in color.
As far as first computer I built it was more recent. it had an AMD K6 and 64mb of RAM. (if I remember right) had somwhere around 1 or 2 GB of HDD space and the Hard drive was freakishly huge. I still have the proc at home in a drawer as well as all of my past rigs. Its like a trophy lol

Re: Post your first computer specs
that sounds strangely familiar....
although I'm not sure my first screen was as big as 14" ![]() I seem to remember spending a fair bit of time pissing around in DOS just to get a game to run any time I used it lol edit: those sinclairs were 'great' , weren't they.. ![]() an hour waiting for one of those god-aweful tapes to load up, only for it to crap out and then have to start over ![]() still, it did give many many many happy hours endlessly playing Paper Boy

Re: Post your first computer specs
First I owned was a ZX80, but it didn't work, and got replaced with a ZX81 (which was less aesthetically pleasing but had floating point in ROM and could display something while running a program).
First PC (after a VIC 20, C64 and Amiga) was a 486 DX2 66 with 16MB of RAM (which cost me $700 at the time). |

I started using Spectrum ZX, used to play Horace goes Skiing, Manic Miner...etc but i don`t have it anymore.
The one i still have and it still works is a .386 with 4MB Ram, i guess 50MB(?) hdd, 33mhz but everytime i start it, have to enter the bios to autodetect hdd.Maybe the battery is gone... Last time i checked, it runs win 3.1, games like supaplex, lotus, mario, dynablaster...heh...oldies but goldies

Re: Post your first computer specs
well I still had my Sinclair (still fully working) up until a couple years back when a member of my family lifted it
![]() we have everything from our megadrive onward in the house, all still used every so often. there's some zombie game or something that C still plays on the megadrive, and I still like break out Goldeneye on the n64 every now and then ![]() wish I still had my NES, but unfortunately that did a disapparing act with a house move a long time ago

1st computer: BBC Micro, Model B - fave game - Elite of course!
1st PC: MJN 486 DX33, to which I added a SB16 MCD ASP and CR563B CD-ROM at enormous cost, also upgraded with a Cyrix DX2-80 I think it had a grand total of 8MB RAM - or maybe it was only 4, and 340MB of hard disk

Re: Post your first computer specs
My first pc (or something similar to it
) was some kind of AMSTRAD that worked with cassettes. Then I upgraded to a pII 350Mhz, 64mb Ram, S3 Trio 3d (very bad 3D performer) and 4Gb Seagate HDD. I completed it a year later with a voodoo3 2000 and more ram. It was the beginning of playing good 3D.
