graphics card or psu problem.

desperate for some help here guys.

i've been having problems with certain games since unreal tournament3 was released (that being the first game i noticed the problem)
games will play fine for say 5 mins then the framerates drop to a slideshow.

tried different o/s (xp32, xp64, vista32) all do the same. i thought it was my creative audigy causing it but i decided to run rivatuner and monitor temp's etc.

now i noticed the voltage regulator current looking iffy, running reasonably steady at 19a then some mad dropouts, then drops to 8a and thats when the game goes tits up, and finaly back to 5.45a

anybody got any idea's on the prob, the temps all seem fine

card is an x1900 crossfire master(single card) and psu is a hiper type r 580w

both pics are the same but 1 with markers so you can see the voltages

Re: graphics card or psu problem.

Saw this before and sorry for the no reply. I noted your "monitor" size and what resolutions are you running on it?

Might be a bit much for that older ATI card.

Re: graphics card or psu problem.

only running it at 1360x768 so i wouldn't think its putting that much strain on it as tecnically its an X1900XT, cod4 i can run at 1900x1080 full AA and AF and barely a stutter (not that i play it like that as its only simulated 1080 cos 1366x768 is its max res)

need for speed undercover works great also, but not farcry2 and any unreal engine games.

and im looking to sell the card soon to offset the 4850 im after so i'd rather make sure its not the card

cheers mate
