I think I will wait for Microsoft to release it.

I agree that may happen. But, I at least trust Microsoft more than an obscure Chinese Webpage that has a leaked O/S posted for download.
I would hate to ruin a perfectly good xp system with something like that.

As Zardon states wisely on the Main Page of this Site:
"Please remember this is not offical and if you install its at your own risk."

I installed it earlier and everything is working fine, in fact it seems a little more responsive than 1050.
I would also like to say that this is a leak direct from microsoft, for the less experienced users, I would suggest sticking with offical releases, but I have no hestiation in trying everything that is released. also a good reason to purchase Drive Image 2002

Well, I'm glad it is working OK for you. I don't have DriveImage. Possibly I'll look into getting it. As you say, anyone who tries unknown sourced O/S should back up what they have before making any changes to their system.

Zardon, will DI 2002 copy a RAID array? I know Ghost 2002 won't support it.

They must have a fat pipe on the DL site. I'm getting better speeds than I do from some US sites. I'm just amazed the number of backup utilities that don't support NTFS and RAID arrays. Not like it's new tech or going to disappear.

I see a bit of a contradiction from the screenshot that Zardon posted:
Build 2600.xpsp1.020618-1800 (Service Pack 1, v.1060) So, this looks like it is really called Build 2600 and not 1600. Believe 1600 is just a version number of the Build.

Build 2600 is the production version of WinXP Alan. It's what all of us have in our boxes if we're using XP. 1060 is the version of the SP1 build, the previous version was 1050.
No contradiction.

Actually my DL is stalling now. Meh, I'll wait for the real deal. Supposed to get leaked to the OEM's before end-users.

My D/L started off at 30kbs on Cable Modem but it has dropped to 16kbs. Still running though. I decided to D/L it just to have on hand if I decide to try it out on this Desktop.

Does anyone have their IP address? I am on a 56k and I can't even get my browser to find the host. Maybe if I could replace the sky999 with their ip address it would work.... or... I could always try raising my time to live, but i don't feel like doing that now....

I would try something like DAP to help you dl the file. Worked for me. Haven't noticed much of a difference with the new service pack. I didn't bother to back up either, but who really cares anyway?

"beta service packs" scare me. Anybody know when Microsoft plans to release the final one? Do they have a goal date their shooting for?
