power supply ????
i have a dell 8200 that came out with a 250watt power supply but seems some one pulled it out i have an old pc with a 300watt power supply all the hook up look to be the same but not sure if i can pull the 300watt out an put it in the dell 8200 any help would be greatful thanks

That's a definite "Maybe"....... in the past Dell has used proprietary PSU pinout on their 20 pin plug and I don't know when they stopped doing that. If the wire color code is an exact match between the two power supplies then you probably can swap the 300 watt into the dell case. If the old dell PSU is missing then your going to have a problem checking that.
There's no problem being over spec as far as wattage goes, if everything else matches up.

well, if all the connectors seem to be the same, than i guess it would be safe to plug in the 300W power supply...

Yeah a lot of those Dell systems have some.....ermhh interesting proprietary things in some of their systems

Mostly the older ones and I'm not sure where the OP's 8200 fits in there, It may be standard hardware.
