PC price question

I am selling (as in by tomorrow) my older desktop PC (without monitor, keyboard, mouse) and I would like to ask you if you think 300 euros is a good price for it.

I don't remember the name of the case, it's big, black, with a mesh in front and heavy like you wouldn't believe. Has room for many fans, currently has 4 in it.

I don't remember the mainboard, but it is either asus or evga..
CPU is a Q6600
2GB RAM DDR2 800
Geforce 8800GTS (640MB)
3 HDDs, Seagates, 500GB each. SATA2.
LG DVD-RW
Soundblaster X-Fi fatality.
Eh, that's it I think.

The graphics card was used for about a year, the soundblaster for 2-3, everything else for less than a year. Being in storage for about a year now.

I don't know what are the prices like in your area, but I think that e300 for the system is a bargain. Some of the components are now rare in retail, but they are still decent so take a look at your local prices and try assembling an equivalent system (something like a Q8200 or Q8400 for the CPU, not sure what's the equivalent for the GPU) and I think that you'll end up significantly above e300 (don't forget the PSU and the case which you didn't mention). Reduce the price you get that way by about 20% and I think that you'll end up with a fair amount.

I think 400-500 $ would be good for that system , however there is a slight difference in every region.

I don't know as I'm not in the market and don't track these things.... The original post by BlueMak said $300 (in Euros..... don't know conversion for that) and that just sounds way to cheap.....

Yeah, I checked a local retailer price list aggregator and, with a Q8200 instead of the Q6600, a 9600GT instead of 8800GTS, a cheap P35 motherboard, the cheapest X-Fi I could find (non Fatality) and assuming that PSU + case cost 100e (which, judging by the case description isn't an overestimate) and the rest of the components matching the original (an LG DVD burner, three 500GB Seagates, 2x1GB DDR2 800MHz), the total came out well in excess of 500e. Of course, this computer isn't new, but most if not all of the components are still under warranty and I'd say that it could easily go for about 400e. That's assuming that our local prices don't differ that much, of course.

Nothing was ever overclocked. I don't overclock my systems.
So, how high should I go, 400 euros?

I took a look at Newegg and the prices there are a bit lower than what I have seen here locally, but, even considering those prices, yes, I think that you could get around €375-400 for that system, or if you just want to get some money for it quickly you could offer it for €350. It's quite a nice and capable machine almost entirely well under warranty and I think that there's no need to go any lower than that.

IvanV is absolutely spot on that system is by a long shot still a capable system and 440USD sounds a bit cheap to me an equivalent system here would easily cost around 550USD

So ya this €375-400 sound about right

I am going for 300 euros and removed the 2 out of 3 hard drives. Plus I won't pay shipping, so, it's ok I think.

for $400... nearly all the parts were spares i upgraded from....

for you, i think 300 euro is great but you sure do include alot of extras (SB X-fi for one)

if you included an OS though, i think you can raise the price easily to 400 euro

Here's my take on this. older parts are never sought after let alone "used" ones. The price has to be right or you'll be lugging that thing around for months.
