Wondering about crossfire

Can I CrossFire a PowerColor 4870 512mb with a Sapphire 4870 1gb?

do the brands/different memory sizes matter?

thanks

Re: Wondering about crossfire

There should be no problem Xfiring two 4870's with different amounts of memory. However, Xfire will be a little handicapped since one of your cards does have a lesser amount of memory.

Regardless, 4870's in Xfire is brutal for the price.

Re: Wondering about crossfire

Only 512MB of the 1GB will be used. So you can also look for a 512MB model, or sell your 512MB model and get a 5 serie.

Re: Wondering about crossfire

Shouldn't be any problems with Crossfiring them. Bear in mind though, that it'll only use 512MB of the memory and not the 1GB though.
