Re: New socket 1156 build!
I'm loving the Cyborg. It's taking some time to get used to the shorter keystroke, but it's growing on me rapidly. I haven't even bothered to utilize any of the special side keys yet, I'm still too busy finding out all the new stuff in my full system build to spend much time digging into the keyboards functions yet. I'm discovering new stuff on an hourly basis
![]() And this build isn't worlds better then my last one, except in a few key areas where it just shines. Hard drive access and GPU power are where this new rig excels. I was and still am so satisfied with the performance of my i7 920 processor that this rig didn't need anything more powerful then that, hence the i7 860. Very very similar performance characteristics to the 920 overall. But CPU horsepower isn't something I've lacked this last year. GPU power and hard drive power is where I've really felt the sting. Now, no more sting

Re: New socket 1156 build!
Well, the 920 has been put through it's paces for almost a year now. It's well broken in. The 860 rig is full of more surprises though. But then it's got more bells and whistles then the 920 rig.

Re: New socket 1156 build!
So far I've only spent much time playing Fallout 3, a little bit of Farcry 2, and alot of DoW2.
Fallout 3 and Farcry 2 see huge boost over single card. DoW 2 sees little to nothing. But, since DoW2 is one of those games that runs great on one card, it's not a problem waiting for a better profile for it.

Re: New socket 1156 build!
Nice to see. How hot do those cards get? Since the lower one has blocked the air input for the upper one. Well some air can go through those rear vents, but is it enough?

Idle temps hover around 37-40C, loaded up they hit around 60-65C. The 2 GPUs seem to stay pretty close to each other though.
