Looking for a new case

I am currently looking for a new case. The main feature will be a removable motherboard tray to make system builds easier. If anyone has suggestions they are fully welcomed.

Re: Looking for a new case

At the risk of sounding like a broken record, I would recommend the Raven 2, even though it hasnt got the removable tray. The airflow and low noise levels are second to none and I personally love the shape and design ethos.

Perhaps its not on your shortlist? have you a budget?

Re: Looking for a new case

Zardon have you taken any serious look at the corsair case?

I keep occasionally eyeing that sucker up as it looks like a very efficient design but i have my doubts just like i loved my Coolermaster Cosmos but i frequently get irritated with it's own design flaws as well.....

Seems every case i come across has an excellent idea and solution for one thing or many things and then screws up on another...

I'm still happy with the Coolermaster 690's.... cheap case that is very good and roomy....

Re: Looking for a new case

Antec P series cases are stylish, quiet, and relatively roomy as well. The brush aluminum look is pretty slick.

The Corsair 8000D and Raven RV02 cases are my personal favorites though.

Yes we reviewed it. check the front page/reviews index and forum discussion thread. It is a very good case, but I don't think its quite up there with the Raven 2, unless you particularly hate the design.

Long chassis is long! :o

The blue front LED's are quite bright in the pictures of Newegg. Or has this to do with the lightning?

I don't know you budget, but a while ago Lian-Li also introduced some new cases. Maybe worth looking for

The blue LED is quite bright yes, but its not piercingly bright. It looks good in a dark room, and with the side window panel , if you have good looking memory such as the Crucial Ballistix LED tracer, it is extremely attractive.

I love the long shape, is the only case I know that has absolutely no 'dead' space at all. there are three 180 mm fans across the entire length of the chassis and everything inside the case gets the perfect air flow design from bottom to top. It was actually a case I had in my head a year before it was released, I was just shocked it took so long to hit market. I am pretty happy that Silverstone made it however as they have stellar build quality.

I also really rate Lian Li as you say, I have both of their Armorcase chassis as well, very nice indeed.

Hehe, reminds me of a little 'case-mod'. I mounted a PC-case on the wheel-chassis of an 'office-chair' (I don't know the exact word :P)

You could easily roll it all over the place since the chassis was rated @ ~100 kg :d

Stuart really rates it - its a good chassis. I just think the Raven 2 has thrown the book out the window and rewritten a lot of the cooling standards. But its personal taste regarding the styling. I think its quite beautiful tbh - really attractive.

Did you try one out in your store yet Judas?

No i haven't seen one in person as of yet...

I'd have to special order it and i wouldn't be able to return it... and the price of 299 bucks is a hard one to chew atm...

Re: Looking for a new case

I've been eyeing the raven but my problem is the watercooling and my obsession with everything being inside the case. I'm just not sure installing a 2x120mm radiator in it would be easy and/or mess up the whole point of cooling the case to begin with

Yeah its a point with WCing in the Raven 2, I know you can fit one in by taking the fans out at the bottom but it kinda defeats the great air flow.

I never did get into liquid cooling out of fear of destruction. I remember trying a small CoolerMaster setup and killed an MSI motherboard trying to remove the backplate that felt like it was adhered with crazy glue. After that i just didnt bother

its a good case http://www.hardwareheaven.com/reviews.php?reviewid=803

I personally prefer the 932 though - I built the Nehalem EP into that case and the air flow is immense - lack of dust filters annoys me though.
