Non-standard PSU power cable
Hello folks!
I just received an 850W PSU (be Quiet Dark Power Pro) after winning this from an online contest. Unfortunately, the PSU power cable wasn't included. I thought I can use a standard PSU cable only to find out that this 850W uses a nonstandard cable. I already contacted the PSU maker but didn't get any response. Any idea where I can buy one?

Re: Non-standard PSU power cable
FYI, that type of cable end is known (from what I have found) as a C20 and is generally for UPS boxes; we have a couple of those cables at my workplace for use with kettle lead panels. To require one for home use is very strange indeed, especially as the images that I found of the Dark Power Pro (including XSReviews) all have kettle lead sockets.
The closest I could find are found here.

Re: Non-standard PSU power cable
Did you contact the people who you won the PSU from? Hopefully they can help you out. Winning a price and not being able to use it is pretty lame.

Re: Non-standard PSU power cable
@Takaharu-- thanks a lot! The info and link will make it easier for me to find such cable. Its not very common at the local PC shops in my city. From the XSReviews and other articles, I get this impression that 800W and above PSUs use this nonstandard cable
@Lowfat -- I did contact the webforum where I won the PSU from, and still waiting for a reply. I'm just worried that shipping charges will be high to my country... |

Re: Non-standard PSU power cable
Yeah that could be an issue with the shipping and what not.
I believe that DH here reviewed a PSU with that plug design but I'm not 100% sure. So I guess they are out there but not often. Companies have dug some pretty deep ruts on some of those types of standards so going outside the normal like that sometimes presents a problem if you are trying to find replacements like cables. GOOD LUCK!
