DirectX 8.1b

What's the deal with this version of DirectX? Performance up? Anything? Details would be nice. I'm using and I don't know how to tell if it's better or worse. Or changes at all.

All it is is a release for developers. It does nothing new for your system that 8.1 isn't doing now.
