Hi,well it all started when my friend got himself a new computer...
(wanted one too since i saw how it was performant!!)

now since like what +2 weeks i have the same PC but different case,ram,and mobo is P7P55D while he got the LE...

so i have

i5 750 @ 2.6
Patriot 2x2 1333Mhz low latency
P7P55D
HD5770
Cooler Master 500W PS
Windows 7 ATI Editon 64

my friend runs all games yet on max settings up 60 fps (no lag..)

while i run Crysis with 25-30 fps....GTAIV with 30-50 fps..(he get 60-120 fps..) ArmA 2 i have to play on normal-low and its still laggy :S

28 fps in RF3
annoying lag in stargate resistance and The scrouge project
Fuel while doing races it can drop to 40(lag hard to race)
Dirt 2 seems fine only when i look back (particles abuse) it lags
my fps drops in oblivion when i go in third view o.O...
Company of heroes runs fine in DX9 but lags when explosion etc(DX10 is unplayable...)
Far Cry 2 very laggy in DX10,in DX9 need to put it medium-high but still laggy :S
STALKER using complete mod 09 if too much effects = drops bellow 30 fps
L4D1-2 150 fps but if hordes comes and i get mobbed it drops to 20 fps..
etc oh well

what i did:
bring it back to "Microbytes"
they did tests for like a week on evrything,then the guy said he installed a new windows 7 on a new HDD and did 3D Vantage bench (1000 points difference*idk if its big* from my current HDD/windows) so the guy said its my custom windows...so i formatted and got an "normal" windows 7 etc then installed Far Cry 2 on C ..guess what? same crappy performance :S..
i e-mailed the guy about the custom windows 7 i have and he said other people arent complaining about any issues...

tried many many things..drivers and etc...i just dont know what to do....
paid for something that isnt even performant as my friend pc is kinda....frustrating...

Do you both have the same settings applied to the games?
Is anti-aliasing turned on on your PC but not your friend's?
Do you both use the same screen resolution? A higher screen resolution will require more graphics power.
Are you now using a legal copy of Windows 7? Windows 7 ATI edition is a pirated, modified version of Windows 7. It's not unlikely that a "normal" copy that has been pirated will lower your PC's performance.

Well hes playing 1280x1024 8xAA while im at 1680x1050 4xAA same settings...and like i said i e-mailed the guy no complains of poor performance..i tried a normal windows 7 like him (ultimate) he pretty put evrything on MAX i was there when he got it...i even tried 1280x1024 and like what 10 fps more...so what the f*ck is going on :S

hes using a normal non-legit windows 7 ultimate i got the same as him and 64 bit while hes on 32 bit...seriously something is wrong with this compared to my friend its crap..All the games i said up hes running them on high/max with full AA no prob while i crap like on ArmA 2 at low-medium...

lol..sorry..no nothing is overclocked,why i would need when i am supposed to have same performance as my friend ? nothing is overclocked..on my old pc i had which is

it had the custom windows 7 installed too i could play red faction 3 with 40 fps..
as for GTAIV i have the same FPS as on my old pc with same settings :S (30-40...)
seriously i aint supposed to lag in stargate resistance and TSP.....

in stargate resistance i have to disable all the eye-candy effects and put all to medium to not LAG in a map(earth map if any one knows) while the map with snow lags horribly was playing with my friend and he didnt get any lag...(hes on 1280x1024 on max while i was playing 1680x1050 but then i tried 1280x1024 and nothing changed..)

When Tom's Hardware reviewed the 5770 it got 34 fps in Crysis at 1680x1050 with 4xAA and 47 fps in GTA 4 at 1680x1050 no AA. So your scores look closer to reality than your friends'.

Does your friend have one 5770 or does he have two?

With the difference in screen resolutions it sounds about right. You said that your friend gets around 60fps in GTA4 but you get 50fps. Lowering your screen resolution to 1280x1024 gets you an extra 10fps.

might want to make sure everything is the same on the 2 pc's. The resolution will make a huge difference, as will different ccc settings. just knowing your friend's resolution and aa setting doesn't mean he hasnt lowered other things for "boosts" in fps. force off vsync if you haven't already.

mine is patriot sector series 5 1333mhz CL7-20

yes i saw that in reviews..but like i said i was there when he played most of games with up 60 fps no lag @ 1280x1024 i even tried the res hes using and i get like only 10 more fps like i said...i mean its been like 3 weeks me and him doing games tests and yet hes pc >>>>>>>>>>> mine...while its almost exactly the same PC...and no i dont even get 40 fps in crysis with those settings about 25-35 fps oh and GTAIV well he took a screenshot of hes settings so i could apply the same and still i get 30-40 fps while he get 60-120 fps again if you dont believe me fine but i was there and i know what i saw....really frustrating for me >.< paid for a new PC that is 20% more performant than my old pc :S

lol no me and him are a maniac of "eye candy" graphics and lagless

hes:1280x1024 8xaa in red faction 3 he didnt lag

so i did 1680x1050 8xaa = unplayable
then 1280x1024 8xaa = same...
(same for like Far Cry 2..etc..)

he use vsync(while i do less on some games) alot we didnt change anything at all in CCC both of us.. will try to upload some screenshots of hes performance and me

again ill say it i applyed exactly those settings and well crap...we are both on ATI Drivers 9.11 (weird thing is that when i installed 10.2 on hes PC for AvP3 fix hes lagged hard on evry games)

You aren't overclocking the gpu, but is your friend doing it?

Those screens are taken in rather low activity areas of each game. Were you testing your system under those circumstances as well?

No nothing is OC'ed on hes side like me..and yes i tried Crysis at this place(going there all the way with low fps/lags..) as for GTAIV...only place i get high fps = beach or when i look up lol..i see RARELY +50 fps

as soon as i can ill go at shop and ask the guy which test he did,maybe it could be my C drive ? even if desktoping is fast as hell o.o

and like i said i was THERE when he played GTAIV and some games..and i never saw it drop under 60 FPS...

Could it be worth swapping cards with your friend for a day? that would rule out that aspect at least...

I'm sure this is correct, but it may be worth checking that your graphics card is in the pci-e x16 channel, it could have been accidently put in an x8 channel? There really shouldn't be huge difference but it may account for some of the loss..

Well swapping cards wont be possible he live like 45 mins away or so..so going there just to exchange card etc...and the card is in the x16 channel yes (x8 is lower on the board)

(i did seagate diags tools for HDD and they all passed :/ )

May be worth a bit of LAN partying with your friend overnight, you can do the tests before it

In your system specs it mentions you've got 2 monitors plugged in - have you tested with only a single monitor? (apologies if you've mentioned this already...)

Well hes going vacation for 2 weeks wednesday ..so yeah we both using dual-screens but ARENT playing always on dual..second screen plugged or not dont make difference since the game is only on 1 monitor..other is for xfire and small programs like that..i dont wanna go try playing duals screens if i already freaking lags only on one (and yeah my friend doesnt lag when he play duals..)

But yeah while hes gone ill again do freaking some test for a half performant paid PC..then maybe ill being my PC to his and compare and etc ...if i had 6 screens plugged to my only 5770 i could understand...but with all i did and the same settings as my friend and lags...bit confused...i hope its really like just HDD..thx!! ill post back if i got any news of my problem

video me=6.0 ( WTF ???) hes=7.4 (6.9 on 10.4 driver)

It's odd that yours scores lower in the index but it's a pretty unreliable measure so nothing to worry about. It seeing 2800mb of memory is perfectly normal, the graphics card can use system memory to some extent - "shared system memory".

Your performance figures seem prefectly reasonable for that PC. You can't expect to play everything maxed with 4xAA at 1600x1050. It being only 20% faster than the old rig you described, I hate to say it, is about right too. A 5770 is faster than a 4850 but not in a different league and the same can be said for other components.

As isaak said it might well be worth setting them up right next to each other with fraps running and identical settings in CCC, and see how they do. Run some 3dmarks etc. If the results are very different, try swapping cards and making sure your on the same drivers. Make sure that you're not running some massive application in the background that he isn't.

Well thx to any of you but it seems my friend PC is "Blessed By God" and no one believe me that he was running GTAIV,Crysis on max or close up 60 fps...its been a week it was a PC repair shop where i bought it...they say its normal with that "PC"

yes sure w/e its normal to lag in stargate resistance/TSP,i tried Assassin Creed 1 on this and it lags on town which on my old PC wasnt(even on Vista DX10) ..bleh guess i have a curse of lag for life while he get PC blessed by god that no one believe DDDD

like i said earlier we arent tweaks abuse l33t hax for CCC or OC or w/e we both dont install alot of uselss crap that could run in background and eat all the ram...and even there i closed ALL the programs i could close and didnt change anything..meh

the guy even OC'ed my proc to 3.7 and OC'ed my 5770 to an Vapor-x specs..nothing changed.... just...FUCKING whatever...........

last solution i guess is to bring my friend PC to fucking show in there fucking face that theres a fucking problem with my PC and saying of what i saw about his PC,saying that its not true....

anyway ill give some news about it after this...

The only thing I can suggest is swapping graphics cards.

Also, when you say he OCed your CPU and GPU and it changed nothing, what do you mean by nothing... the fps didn't go up at all? or just still not performing how it should?

I can feel the frustration oozing out of this post!

So, lets start from the beginning again and see where we can get to... (Personally if i were you I would bin the dodgy hacked version of windows that you have first and grab a trial version from somewhere at the very least...this may work: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/e...x?ITPID=wtcpgs )

1) Download the latest BIOS from Asus as well as the latest Intel chipset driver from Intel, the latest audio driver from Asus, the latest video driver from ATI and the latest directX from microsoft.

Asus BIOS and VIA Audio: ASUSTeK Computer Inc.-Support- (Version 1408 is the BIOS, Audio is 6.0.1.7900a)

Intel Chipset: INF Update Utility - Primarily for Intel® 5, 4, 3, 900 Series Chipsets (9.1.1.1025)

LAN: Realtek (7.018)

ATI: Drivers & Support | GAME.AMD.COM (10.4)

DirectX: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...7-5ab8109cb4f5

2) Update the BIOS. On first boot, go into the BIOS, set optimal defaults and then. Save/Exit.

3) Install Windows

4) Connect to the net and get all windows updates apart from Intel/ATI/Via Audio + Realtek LAN

5) Install the intel chipset driver. Reboot

6) Install the ATI driver. Reboot

7) Install the audio Driver. Reboot

8) Install the LAN driver. Reboot.

9) Install all your games/apps. Reboot

10) Install the latest DirectX. Reboot (Very important you do this step AFTER the game installs)

11) Try your games again.
