Looking for a case

Hey DH (excuse me, HH), it's been awhile.

I'm finally getting the money to do a nice build, and I need some input on a case.

I'm terrible at deciding on cases, so I need some help.

On top of what I mentioned above, I plan on sticking with air cooling, too. So it doesn't need to be watercooling capable, or whatever.
Also, it can be either full or mid size. I'm not really sure what I'll need, so I'm open to either.

I need a case with:
-Good cable managing abilities
-Preferably one that has the PSU on the bottom
-Window optional
-Simple looking

My budget is anywhere from 80 dollars to 150 dollars. I want to try and stick to around ~120 or less.

Thanks in advanced!

Re: Looking for a case

I really like this one:

Newegg.com - COOLER MASTER HAF 932 RC-932-KKN1-GP Black Steel ATX Full Tower Computer Case

The issue I'm having is the shear amount of screens on it. I don't want to have to clean my computer every other week because of dust, and it seems like those would just let it in.

I do like the layout a lot, though. Like, I like it A LOT.

EDIT: Plus the top fan exhaust port is kinda strange. I'd rather not have one of those.

Re: Looking for a case

generally... if you want alot of air-cooling, you will need to put more time into the cleaning, thats just how it works.

unless you want to be doing very frequent filter removal and cleaning, it just builds up over time, it takes a long time for a significant amount of dust to build up inside a computer. most cooler master cases include a kind of mesh air filter in the drive bay to limit the amount of dust building up there while not putting anything in front of the fans located on the side of the chassis.

you may need to find something with less fans or more fan filters. i dont know about ones with many fan filters however.

Re: Looking for a case

I mean, I clean my computer I have now pretty regularly, so it's not a huge issue. Was just a thought.

I'll just have to invest in a can of air every so often. That's whatever.

Re: Looking for a case

Actually, the more I think about it, the more I think a full tower is almost too much.
I think I was under the impression that the case I have now was a full, but I don't think it is.

Edited OP with changed specifications. I think it's more what I need now.

Honestly, though, I'm kinda in love with the case I posted. If there's anything you know similar to that I'd be all ears.

Re: Looking for a case

Not many case makers go for a clean look nowadays, but have a look at the less expensive Fractal Design - Define R2. Newegg don't have it but it should be available elsewhere in the US by now.
There's a great run through of it on Youtube: YouTube - Fractal Design Define R2 Mid-tower Case Review, by www.mnpctech.com

Re: Looking for a case

If you like the HAF 932, but think (like I do) that a full tower is just way too big, then there is always it's 'little brother' the HAF 922:
Newegg.com - COOLER MASTER HAF 922 RC-922M-KKN1-GP Black Steel + Plastic and Mesh Bezel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Personally, based on my experience with the Cooler Master RC-690, I'd recommend the updated version, the RC-690 II Advanced:
Newegg.com - COOLER MASTER RC-692-KKN2 CM690 II Advanced Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

There is a windowed side available for it if you want one:
CM Store

With either of those cases, if you are going to be doing decent cable management, an extenston cable for the 4/8 pin mobo power would be a good thing to get as well.
Newegg.com - Athena Power 8" Extension & Conversion Four-In-One Model Cable-M84M84F

Re: Looking for a case

The Raven kinda frightens me. It's so different.

Thanks for pointing out the smaller version of the HAF 932, OB.
What I'm even more thankful for, though, is pointing out the RC-690 II.

It's a lot like the smaller HAF, but then again it's also got a lot of improvements that I wanted. Like the feet on the bottom. Or how it's all blacked out. Or the smaller holes inside for cable management.

Honestly, this might be everything I need. Thanks, Old Buzzard!

If there's any more suggestions, I'm all ears.

Re: Looking for a case

I've got the HAF932. It's MASSIVE. Very very good air cooling and pretty quiet, although the dust does build up pretty fast... All I do though is wipe my hand over the outside of the fan grill to get rid of the visible dust, and every few months I'll clean the inside out with compressed air.

I have the AMD edition of the HAF932 and love it to bits

Re: Looking for a case

the Coolermaster 690-II is by far the best though in terms of light weight, cheap cases..
