New DVD drive being read as ATA

I just bought an ASUS DWR-B1st and it has SATA plugs on it. I plugged it in using the SATA cable to my mobo but used a converter for the PSU cause I was too lazy to get the SATA to PSU wire from a box I put somewhere... (I have a PSU with detectable cables). IMG Burn is reading the drive as ATA, does it lower it's performance cause I didn't use a real SATA to PSU plug for the drive?

Re: New DVD drive being read as ATA

No it does not. It is really common that this kind of misidentification happens with the burning softwares....
