Parents Flea bombed the house, Computer glitched, wont boot windows, and more

Yesterday they flea bombed their apt. their pc has no side cover they didnt cover it before letting the bombs go couple hours later they tried to turn on the pc and it wouldnt turn on at all.

Few hours later it turns on but the post text graphics look distorted, PC logo is distorted. gets to the starting windows screen and freezes. PC restore gets to 100 load bar then freezes there.

Im assuming the chemicals settles on some electronics and is shorting something out? I wiped the mobo slightly with some rubbing alcohol on a coffee filter. Used almost half a can of compressed air it doesnt help. Thinking im going to disassemble the pc and wipe down everything, Any suggestions?

I also get this error before it tries to boot windows:

I think dissasembling and wiping everything down metaculously is your best bet.

FACP probably stands for Fixed ACPI Description Table in this context, which is a part of BIOS, and since the other problems you mentioned might also be BIOS related, I'd try resetting CMOS if you haven't done so. Good luck.

I have flea bombed rooms with pc's before and never had a problem, but never with the side door off. We use the ones that are like smoke grenades.

As Neshi said give everything a good wipe down and hope for the best. It's quite strange for the text to be distorted at the post.

So im not sure if it was the bug spray, or overheating. I took the mobo out of the case noticed the heatsink was very hot, and a bit dusty. Figured i might as well throw new thermal paste on and reseat the heatsink. wiped down the mobo set it on a piece of cardboard plugged in the necessary cables and voila it booted

Sucess, Now if only I can convince them to leave it running like that, I mean, it doesnt NEED to be INSIDE the case....

Dude, never leave the hard drive with its printed board facing downwards! Mine was standing like the one in that picture when I was troubleshooting some hardware problems a while ago and I just barely touched it at one point which caused it to move and there was just a very short *bzzt* and it was gone.

Bad news everyone, it worked only for a while... I put it back in the case made sure all the screws were in and it wouldnt turn on.... took it back out and once again even sitting on a cardboard box it will not power up, weither I use the switch or short the pins :/

Acer or HP PoS?

probably was over heating..

the thermal adhesive or likely crap for paste they use probably solidified and became useless..

Question is.. were they already having heating issue considering they had the side off the case previously.

It didnt have a side door, they cant afford a computer so I found this one.

I bet it was damage due to overheating :/

I'm having the same error.
May I know what solved it?

I get this error:
FATAL ERROR: Something went worng (FACP). Forceful mode will skip.
Press any key to continue booting.

and when I use my installation cd to repair it I get this error while loading the dvd:
HAL_INITIALIZATION_FAILED
STOP: 0X0000005C

Safemode
last good known configuration
and others dont work.

please help.
