Looking at DTR Laptops
Since my g/f is crabbing about her old 13inch laptop, I'm thinking of giving her the desktop rig I built a few years ago and getting myself a new gaming laptop. So far I'm liking the specs of the Asus G73JH . Anyone have any experiences with this one or any other suggestions?

Re: Looking at DTR Laptops
Friend has the G73JH. It's very powerful, but I feel it's a tad overpriced/hard to come by if you want it customized (however, the preset versions are available from places like Target, BestBuy, CircuitCity, etc). I'd personally go with a heavily customized Vaio F series, but the G73JH is pretty good (friend lans SC2 on it, BFBC2, etc, all work on max). Runs a bit hot though.

Re: Looking at DTR Laptops
I priced a Vaio F series with similar options to the Asus that Newegg has, and the Vaio was more expensive with an inferior video card. I'll probably go with the Asus, but I'm still gonna shop around for awhile longer.

Re: Looking at DTR Laptops
I decided to go with the G73JH. The one I actually ordered has the Blu Ray drive and twin 500gb hard drives along with a bag and mouse and it was only 100$ more than the lesser model in the Newegg link I posted. It should arrive Friday or Monday

Re: Looking at DTR Laptops
i've seen the g73..... really compared to similare or although attempted to be comparible specs as others.... there isn't really anything that can touch it... plus the asus... the newest revision of the g73.. runs a fair bit cooler.. the previous version ran cooler then the competeing versions...
and of course.. the price is Considerably CHEAPER then any other manufacturer... which is ultimate.. frankly i haven't found a laptop with similare specs that is cheaper then ASUS in terms of taking quality build into mind
