More hard drive issues

Okay, so as some of you know, I am going to be RMA'ing my 750GB hard drive because the reallocated sectors count is too high. Anyway, I turned off my computer and took out the hard drive then started up again. After it posted, I got the "Reboot and Select proper Boot device" error, so I did that. I selected the CD drive then hard drive then restarted. Still gave the error, so I disabled the CD drive and my 1TB alone (Which has Windows on it), and it still would give the same error. The only way I can get it to start up is by reconnecting my 750GB hard drive, which again, has no data on it, it was never RAIDed. The only thing I ever did to it after I formatted was give it a volume label so I could run some more tests on it.

Any suggestions on what to do?

Also, I disconnected the CD drive, tried using all the SATA ports with all my cables, tried all my available SATA power ports and still no Windows. I tend to attract stupid problems like these.

Is the 1 TB drive a Primary partition?

Re: More hard drive issues

Never mind, I fixed it. Turns out the Windows installer put all the OS files into my 1TB and all the boot files into the 750. Again, this only happens to me.

Re: More hard drive issues

love it when windows likes to stuf files in strange places..

this is why i try to for example... install windows 7 with only a single drive attached to begin with and after it installs the files and does a reboot.. i reconnect the drive at this point.
