New Power Supply 800w+

My current power supply starting to play up (crazy sounds if it isn't upside down in my case, could be just the fan with dust but I've been wanting to change to a better PSU for a while anyway) it's pretty old. Hiper M-780.

Looking at 850-1kW PSU's, preferably gold rated, able to last through a few upgrades. Any recommendations? I'm in UK.

I'm liking the NZXT Hale 850 or 1000 atm. Cooler Master Gold 800 got bad ripple in the review here.

I had a corsair TX950 just a few days ago, installed it and it kept having crackling sounds until i turned off EIST/speed step/power savings mode. And ontop of that a weird off squealing noise whenever I entered a 3d app or utilised the GPU (did not go away). Unless I'm certain that I dont have to go through RMAing again, I'd rather stay away from corsair for now (Although the AX series looks very nice).

Price range preferable 100-170 GBP.

I can vouch for Thermaltake; their products have been high-class reliable without breaking the bank. See what you think of this:

I would highly recommend Sparkle's power supplies, but I can't seem to find a UK-site that sells them

Re: New Power Supply 800w+

that sounds like a good choice. I have never had a problem with NZXTs quality on any of their products that I own.

Re: New Power Supply 800w+

Just got it installed very quick and easy, thank god for modular very quiet too, though I don't have enough in my rig to get it near 50% load. loudest thing at all times in my rig now is the true120 ^^
