PS2 to USB adapter..
Since I have problems in Linux, everytime I press a key everything locks up for a few seconds. This means it's a hassle to even log in.
So, I went and bought an adapter so I could connect the keyboard to USB instead but it won't work, BIOS doesn't recognise it at all. Perhaps windows will, I didn't go that far, but it doesn't really matter since it HAS to work in BIOS as well. Haven't really been into bios to see if there is some setting there I need to change yet, thought I'd ask here first. Of course, it might just be that the adapter is faulty. Have no other way to test that right now I'm afraid.. |

Re: PS2 to USB adapter..
when it comes to keyboard and PS/2.... i have never found any reliable method to make it work..
the only REAL solution that is problem free is to get a REAL USB Keyboard.. they are so much nicer...

Re: PS2 to USB adapter..
The PS/2 to USB adapters that are the size of USB to PS/2 adapters won't work with most keyboards. Bugger knows what keyboards they do work with.
You can get a slightly different adapter that is compatible like this one. I haven't tried it but apparently that's the kind you need.

Re: PS2 to USB adapter..
Oh well, it only cost like a handful of peanuts anyway so it's no biggie. I guess I have to find myself a new keyboard then because I'm almost positive that the ps/2 is causing the problems in linux.
