Re: Monitor problem power glitches

lol... well..

i know you can get short 1 1/2 foot or 3 foot cables too..

Generally most hardware comes with 6 foot or 5 1/2 foot cables... which yes are a little excessive..

IMO the best way to coil and tidy cables is to wrap them in a circle.. NOT loop to loop figure eights unless they are quite large and wide ones... I've seen people kink and crush their cables.. and while have no problems usually initially, after moving or unplugging these cables, had problems later on...

Re: Monitor problem power glitches

I got a video card the other day for a desktop I am building slowly and it had an hdmi to dvi adapter in it so I tried that and since then I have had no black screens that I have noticed but unfortunately I have to do audio directly from the laptop again which is just annoying when I have to move it everyday but its better than that annoying black screen or VGA so i'll live. Playing Fallout:NV is much more enjoyable now

uh yes... refurbished.....

even when they are a great deal.. i never touch them... there is always something wrong.

probably what happened is that someone bought the monitor new.. used it for a short time.. tried the hdmi.. ran into the same problem... sent it back under warranty.. and all LG did was just box it up after checking it for 5 seconds and seeing that it appeared to be fully working resold it as a refurb.... with the typical 30 day warranty.

This is why I refuse to buy anything other from LG.

I had a LG monitor, went bad, contacted support, they were excellent, fast, replacement provided, the new monitor was a refurbished with a different issue. Next day I contacted them, no problem, they sent another replacement, got it, worked fine for some time, then developed the same exact issue as my first monitor.
So..yeah, avoid buying refurbished monitors (and hard drives). They are what they are for a reason.
